You guessed it, that’s me Kirsten, your most favorite Sonoma County Photographer! Capturing genuine love and light is my #1 when it comes to photography, the coolest job ever. It’s actually pretty amazing when people come to me time and time again for these special moments in life they want to preserve. I guess you could add that to my title also, moment catcher. In this digital age we need to stop and enjoy what’s right in front of us, which is why I love taking a more laid-back approach to documenting you. Watching how your family genuinely interacts, freezing that partner’s nose tickle across the peach fuzz on your cheek, registering how small your baby’s fingers are while they grab your one finger in those first few days of life. Trust me when I say, all these things flash by faster than you can say “cheese” - which is something I promise to never say!
Other than that I’m a chauffeur and maid extraordinaire - you know, 2 kids and a husband have me running ragged with school, activities, and lots of adventures. Other things I love to do: attempts at crocheting, playing Super Mario Bros (OG of course), hiking/lifting, and lots and lots of cooking!

“We found Kirsten Melligan on Yelp and hired her to take some family portraits in West County around Thanksgiving. Her portfolio was strong on her website even though she did not have many review. After taking briefly on the phone and getting some pricing, it sounded like a great fit.
The weather did not cooperate and we ended up moving back just a day and she was very flexible.
We met the day of the shoot and I crossed my fingers we had made the right choice. She was waiting in the parking lot, she had gotten there an hour early and scouted all the spots and lights. She managed the group easily and with a light hand.
And we just got the photos, she did an amazing job.
We got great shots of us, my brothers family, the whole family together and even the dogs.
